By day, you’ll usually find me tattooing whimsical cuties or doodling on my iPad as @hokeiipokeii. I’ve always been a big believer in "comfort aesthetics," and I’m so incredibly hyped to finally bring that same cozy energy to the pottery wheel with you!

This workshop is my invitation for us to slow down, get a bit messy, and turn a lump of clay into something special for your morning matcha or coffee. Whether you’re a total beginner or just here for the vibes, I can’t wait to see what you create! 🧸✨

The Clay-to-Kiln Timeline

• The Big Squeeze (Wheel Session): We’ll meet at Hei Pottery in Markham to master the art of centering. You’ll get to throw 3 unique pieces (using 1kg of clay total, split into three balls of approx. 420g each per person) think cozy mugs, bowls, or even a little tray for your trinkets!
• The Beauty Sleep: After our session, your pieces need a little nap. I’ll be watching over them as they air-dry to "leather hard," then I’ll carefully trim the bases and put them through their first bisque fire. This behind-the-scenes magic takes about 2–3 weeks.
• The Paint Party (Second Session): You’ll head back to the studio for a separate visit to underglaze your work with your own doodles. Since everyone paints at their own pace, Hei Pottery charges a $15/hour studio fee for this time, paid directly to them.
• The Final Reveal: Once you finish painting, I’ll give them a final clear glaze fire to make them shiny and food-safe. Then they’re officially ready for their forever home! 🏮

Just a Few Pokeii Notes

• The Investment: $85 CAD including tax. (This covers your 1kg of clay, three balls of clay per person, trimming done by me, and the final clear glaze/ firing!)
• Location: We’re throwing at Hei Pottery in Markham. I’ll send the exact address and entry instructions once your spot is confirmed!
• Prep: Please come with short nails (it’s a wheel-throwing game changer!) and wear mess-friendly clothes you don't mind getting dusty.
• Parking: Limited spaces are available right outside, so try to arrive a few minutes early to snag a spot.

Booking & Policies

• Payment: To officially secure your spot, full payment can then be made via EMT (hokeiipokeii@gmail.com) or I can send over a Wise link if you prefer.
• Timing & Overtime: Please note that if you or your party group goes over the scheduled workshop time, there will be an additional $15 fee/ hour to cover the extra studio space and overhead costs.
• Rescheduling: Please provide at least 48 hours' notice.
• Cancellations: Payments are non-refundable, but can be credited toward a future session if you give us a heads-up.
• No-Shows: These forfeit payment to cover studio and prep costs.
